Phil Rossi is taking the ANCESTOR route to publishing, making an Amazon.com rush on July 9 for his novel CRESCENT. I like this book a lot, so much, in fact, that the FDO™ has a tasty blurb on the front cover. Phil is giving the book away as a podcast and a PDF, but he wanted to take a couple of minutes to give his schpeil directly to you Junkies. Hey, what can you say? Excellent story
Though I may never actually read it ('cause I prefer audiobooks for my fiction) I'm going to buy a copy just to show my support for Phil. He's a really great up-and-coming writer with a super-creepy style. Love it!

horrible story
I listened to this via podcast and the story started off with premise then dipped into the absurd, rolled into the boring, and concluded with a Yawn. So much buildup and then a Deus Ex machina saves the day. You could've figured it out long before and knew what was happening. It felt like the author was writing just to write and do fillers. You could easily cut out 1/4 of this book and slim it down. The horror wasn't there, the sleazy sex was, and the suspense was nice then let down. Overall a 6/10 for effort. I wasn't impressed and really was hoping for it to get good and then horribly let down at the ending.so a pre-order will not help with a rush?
Not sure I get this whole rush the charts thing. and if pre-orders get counted in with the "rush". I AM going to go ahead and order my copy tomorrow, just to make sure. and if this has been discussed before. just point me to the right forum. Thank you...

a Deus Ex machina in the ending. What Phil wrote - the stuff about two universes bumping against each other - actually has its foundations in hard science. The "branes" theory of universe genesis speaks almost directly to what Phil was getting at. I'm sorry you didn't like it as much as the rest of us did, but
A) It was free, so quit yer bitchin'
B) Constructive criticism would have better than just saying "it sucked & didn't scare me."

Was just trying to purchase this and Personal Effects:Dark Art over at Amazon... Those jokers force you to store your payment info with them, which is something I simply will not do. Payment companies get hacked ALL THE TIME and I have no idea who Amazon uses for credit card processing. Why can't they just let me do a one-time payment instead of wanting to store my CC info? So stupid.
