Stephen Fry gets a taste of the grandeur of one of college football finest moments -- Auburn vs. Alabama. I've been around football my entire life. It was fantastic to watch this piece and see the experience through the eyes of someone new to the spectacle. Fry sums it up nicely by pointing out this is a regular-season game against a pair of amateur teams, not a "grand final" at the highest levels of the sport. Thanks to Jeremy Owyang for sharing this!

Oh that look on his face...

Since i've never been to
Since i've never been to a pro game, i can't make the statement: "college football is the one and only still pure and perfect aspect of the game of american football, with its passion and fury, its great drama and pageant that still has meaning to something other than a name on a coliseum or a dollar figure." But... if you've never been in Tuscaloosa or Auburn during an Iron Bowl, its amazing. I think all the swearing we do about the damn intemperate weather comes out in sport. You can feel the ground shake when the crowds cheer. Oh, and did I mention the bars and restaurants?
The Flyover does lose a bit
in the DARK, people! But totally cool shots of the bands and I just love Stephen Fry.

I only know everything if you ask the right questions.

2007. The coaches are wearing the Saban introduced coaching shirts and there is a shot of D.J. Hall giving a highfive. D.J. only played one year under Saban and that was 2007.

His face at the end
You can tell Stephen Frye was impressed during the fly over at the end of the video.

Nothing like College Sports
I am a bigger fan of college basketball, but the environment at a rival college football game is like none other!
May barbarians invade your personal space!
